Preparations for Basant 2027 are underway, with the district administration proposing five designated zones in Lahore for the manufacturing of kite string.
The proposed locations include Manawan Sports Complex, LDA City Nishter, Raiwind Market, Rakh Tehra in Cantonment Tehsil, and Saggian Bridge along the River Ravi.
According to the proposal, around 500 to 600 points will be established across the designated locations. The initiative aims to ensure effective management and prevent shortages of kite-flying materials during the festival.
Strict monitoring will be carried out in the designated zones to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
The administration will also take measures to prevent the production and use of banned kite string, hazardous threads and chemicals.
