A meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party has been called in the evening today (Thursday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As many as 177 MPAs of the PTI will endorse the decisions of party chairman Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi.
All the 10 MPAs of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) already endorsed the decisions yesterday.
Voting on the no-confidence motion, submitted by the opposition against the Punjab chief minister, will be carried out on Friday or Saturday next.
As per the constitutional procedure, a notice is issued to the Speaker’s Office seven days after receiving the no-confidence motion, and during the next three to seven days, voting is carried out in the assembly.
The opposition alliance needs 186 votes for the no-confidence motion against the chief minister, but they have 177 votes only. On the other hand, the ruling coalition has 187 MPAs.
