The Supreme Court Karachi Registry Thursday issued a written order for the hearing of the case for providing compensation and alternative accommodation to the victims of Nallah encroachment, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The order stated that time should be given for consultation on the two options given to the victims by the Sindh government.

The lawyer of the victims said that after consultation with the victims, they will give the final suggestions. The lawyer also said that the Sindh government should be allowed to decide first how it will pay and rehabilitate the victims.

The chief secretary of Sindh and the mayor of Karachi jointly sought time for consultation.

The order further stated that the Sindh government and the mayor of Karachi should quickly resolve the issues of compensation and alternative accommodation to the victims.

The order also directed them to submit a report within 15 days by implementing the court orders.

The suggestions given by the victims were that the Sindh government should pay them a plot of 80 yards and construction money according to the market, or that the Sindh government should give them a ready house of 80 yards in Malir Development Authority to all 6,932 victims.
