A court in Islamabad on Monday sentenced 12 people to life imprisonment besides awarding 16-year prison terms and slapping fines on them under different other sections in the case of the murder of four persons, including PPP leader Raja Nasir Hanif, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Additional and District Sessions Judge Asmatullah, who pronounced the verdict, acquitted three persons due to the want of evidence.
Those who were awarded prison terms were Raja Raziur Rehman, Sohail, Sajidur Rehman, Muhibur Rehman, Nadeem, Saad, Fahad, Mahad Abbasi, Faheem Abbasi, Nadir, Faizan and Muhammad Hafeez.
Raja Raziur Rehman, Sohail and Sajid are three brothers, while Nadeem Abbasi is their father, and Saad, Fahad and Mahad are sons.
The convicts had shot dead four persons namely Raja Nasir Hanif, Haroon Qadeer, Adnan and Imran over a land dispute.
