At least three people were killed and three others wounded after armed men attacked the house of a local family in the Ghotki district of northern Sindh, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
According to police officials, the attack took place in the outskirts of Khanpur Mahar, where assailants opened fire on the residence of Shahnawaz Patafi following a prolonged dispute related to marriage ties between families.
Three members of the Patafi family were shot dead on the spot, and three others were wounded in the assault.
Police identified the deceased as Dodo Patafi, Huzoor Bux Patafi, and Asghar Patafi. Three other individuals sustained gunshot wounds during the attack.
The injured and the bodies of the deceased were transported to Khanpur Mahar Hospital, where doctors said the wounded were receiving medical treatment. Hospital officials did not immediately comment on their condition.
Khanpur Mahar is a town in Ghotki district, an agriculturally significant region of Sindh known for its date palms, cotton, and sugarcane production, as well as its historical sites and traditional sweets.
The incident comes less than two weeks after a similar outbreak of violence in the same area. On December 8, three people were killed when a long-running feud between two rival groups of the Gadani tribe erupted into gunfire near Khanpur Mahar.
That clash took place in Nadi Gadani village, where members of both sides exchanged fire over an old dispute that police said was linked to allegations of obscenity.
Two men, identified as Nadi Gadani and Zafar, were killed at the scene, while Ghulam Mustafa later died in a retaliatory attack.
Police said both disputes reflect a pattern of unresolved feuds in the area, some of which have persisted for years and periodically flare into violence despite repeated attempts at mediation.
