Good news for internet users and now the speed of the net will not be slow as Pakistan has been connected to the Africa-1 submarine cable, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to a PTCL spokesperson, the cable carrying heavy data transmission has been connected to the PTCL exchange in Karachi, which will strengthen Pakistan's telecommunications with global digital centers.
PTCL spokesperson said that the 10,000-kilometer-long cable system includes modern technologies.
The cable will connect Pakistan to strategically important locations including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Sudan, Algeria, France, Kenya, and Djibouti.
Syed Muhammad Shoaib Vice President PTCL said our participation in the Africa-1 cable system is in line with Pakistan's 'Digital Vision 2030'.
He said we are determined to empower people by bridging the digital divide.
Innovation in various sectors can be promoted and the country's economy can be stabilized, Muhammad Shoaib said.
The Africa-1 cable system will become operational in early 2026 and users will have access to world-class internet facilities.
