The Punjab Traffic Police has reinforced the mandatory requirement for all citizens to obtain a valid driving license before driving on the roads, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Strict penalties and heavy fines will be imposed on violators who fail to comply with this regulation.

A driving license is issued only after an applicant successfully clears both theoretical and practical tests conducted by the Traffic Police in Lahore and other cities across Punjab. The licensing process also involves a fee structure that varies depending on the type and duration of the license.

Traffic Officials Authorized to Check Licenses Anytime

Traffic officers across the province have been given the authority to demand a driving license anytime for verification. If a driver fails to present a valid license, they will be subjected to fines or challans on the spot.

Revised Fee Structure for Driving Licenses in Punjab
The Lahore Traffic Police has released the updated fee structure for driving licenses, as part of its intensified campaign against unlicensed drivers.

Test Fee: Rs 150 (for all applicants)
One-year license: Rs 1,980
Two-year license: Rs 3,330
Three-year license: Rs 4,680
Four-year license: Rs 6,030
Five-year license: Rs 7,380

This new pricing aims to encourage compliance with traffic laws while ensuring that licensed drivers are properly trained and tested before hitting the roads.
