Spokesman for President Asif Ali Zardari Murtaza Solangi said on Sunday that the president had warned about the situation in Afghanistan as early as on February 8, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“The president had said that under the Taliban rule, the situation akin to the one preceding 9/11 was developing in Afghanistan,” Solangi said in a tweet, adding that the reemergence of terrorist organizations in the landlocked country had again started posing a threat to world peace.
Similarly, the ex-minister said, the president had also said that Pakistan’s neighbour to the east was assisting the Taliban government.
