An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad on Thursday dismissed the bail applications of human rights activist and lawyer Imaan Mazari and her husband, Hadi Ali Chattha, in a case related to an altercation outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra heard the case and rejected the pre-arrest bail petitions due to non-prosecution, as neither Imaan Mazari nor Hadi Ali Chattha appeared before the court.

Meanwhile, at the Islamabad High Court, Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha again underwent biometric verification on Thursday to file a fresh petition.

The two lawyers arrived at the high court, accompanied by senior lawyer Dr Babar Awan and High Court Bar President Wajid Ali Gilani.

Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha have been present at the Islamabad High Court Bar president’s office for the past two days, citing fears of arrest in undisclosed cases.

Meanwhile, a heavy contingent of Islamabad police has remained deployed outside the Islamabad High Court for the last two days.
