Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday inaugurated a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory (Cath Lab) at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Jhang, 24NewsHD TV reported.
During her visit, the chief minister inspected the newly established Cath Lab, a modern operation theatre, pre- and post-procedure wards, angiography ward, and the hospital pharmacy, where she reviewed the availability of medicines and injections.
She also observed a live medical procedure from the control room and met patients undergoing treatment for heart ailments.
With the establishment of the Cath Lab, timely and quality treatment for heart attack patients has become possible in Jhang, eliminating the need for patients to travel to Lahore or Multan.
The facility will offer angiography, angioplasty, primary PCI, and the installation of temporary pacemakers, significantly enhancing emergency cardiac care in the region.
Patients and their attendants expressed gratitude while speaking to the chief minister, saying they never imagined that advanced heart attack treatment would be available in Jhang.
They said the new facility has spared them the hardship of long-distance travel during medical emergencies and described the project as a great gift for the people of Jhang.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also prayed for the swift recovery of cardiac patients and interacted with residents of Jhang and surrounding areas.
