An arrested terrorist of Fitna al Khawarij made startling revelations and said that terrorists are obtaining self-serving fatwas from illegal madrasas under the head of religion, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to details, an arrested facilitator of Fitna al Khawarij, Maulvi Zafaryad, belonged to Jamia Nizamul Aloom, Bannu, and was a member of a group of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam.
Following the revelations made by the arrested foreign facilitator, it has become imperative to bring illegal seminaries under the ambit of the DGRE in accordance with the National Action Plan.
The arrested terrorist said that the arrested foreign facilitator, Mufti Zafaryab, has confessed to being an active associate of foreign commander Hikmat Roshan and a member of the Gul Bahadur Shura.
He obtained eight years of Dars-e-Nizami education from the Nizam-ul-Uloom Orphan Department, Bannu.
The terrorist said that “I completed a three-year specialisation in Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) at Al-Markaz Al-Islami, Ghoriwala.”
He further revealed that the Khawarij commander used to obtain un-Islamic fatwas from me to facilitate extortion and intimidate capitalists in the name of jihad.
Commander Hikmat Roshan also offered bribes, positions, and financial benefits to various people, including me, the external facilitator, for this purpose.
The Khawarij have no connection to Islam; they are elements holding un-Islamic ideologies who even deem the killing of Muslims permissible.
According to experts, the revelations made by an arrested foreign facilitator make it clear that terrorists exploit illegal seminaries—and the self-styled "muftis" found within them—to further their nefarious agendas.
An agreement regarding the registration of illegal seminaries has been in effect since 2019 among the representative bodies of Pakistan’s religious seminaries—including Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia—collectively known as the “Ittehad-e-Tanzeemat-e-Madaris”.
Transparent scrutiny of all illegal seminaries and their affiliated political parties is essential to curb support for extremism and terrorism.
Enhancing government oversight of seminaries, standardising curricula, and improving the quality of education in Pakistan are critical imperatives at this time.
