Pakistani actress Naeema Butt has broken her silence after veteran actress and director Sangeeta accused her of "difficult behaviour" and claimed she was dropped from the upcoming film Mukho.
Responding to the allegations, Naeema shared her side of the story while receiving support from several members of the entertainment industry.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Naeema reposted a video shared by actress Mishi Khan, who defended her after Sangeeta's remarks. She also clarified that her suggestions were made with good intentions to improve the overall quality of the project and were only offered because Sangeeta had asked for them.
Naeema further stated that she was the one who informed Sangeeta she could not be part of the film due to scheduling conflicts. She added that she returned the token money, which she said had been given to her during their first meeting before she had confirmed her participation in the project.
Despite the controversy, Naeema maintained a respectful tone, saying she still respects Sangeeta as her senior and wished her the very best for Mukho. She also said that they simply have different working styles.
Following the controversy, several celebrities came out in support of Naeema. Actress Mishi Khan urged senior actors, producers and directors to welcome creative discussions instead of treating new ideas as an ego issue.
Dr. Ejaz Waris also voiced his support for Naeema after Sangeeta's interview sparked debate online.
Naeema Butt rose to fame with her role as Rubab in the hit drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, where her performance earned widespread praise from audiences.
