The tragic demise of veteran Pakistani actress Ayesha Khan has cast a sombre shadow over the nation, exposing a harrowing tale of abandonment, solitude, and heartbreak.
Once a beloved face of television, Ayesha Khan passed away in isolation. Her lifeless body was discovered in her Gulshan-e-Iqbal apartment several days after her death.
Details emerging about her final days have painted a deeply distressing picture of a mother left to suffer in silence. In a powerful post penned by journalist Sarah Hussain and narrated by anchor and vlogger Farah Iqrar.
“It’s good that Ayesha Aapa passed away,” Sarah writes. “She wasn’t living… she was just passing her days waiting for death.”
Ayesha Khan, who once graced screens with her elegance and talent, was reportedly deserted by her children after she distributed all her property among them a decade ago. According to Sarah, she longed for her children’s love and company, but even phone calls became too much to expect.
“She once visited veteran actor Talat Hussain’s home and broke down, sharing how her children had promised to call but never did,” Sarah revealed.
“One of her sons lived in Karachi in a lavish home, another in Islamabad, and her daughter resided in London, yet none found the time to visit or care for her.”
Despite having been generous not only to the needy, Ayesha’s final years were marked by emotional neglect.
“She gave everything she had, but in return, all she received was silence and abandonment,” Sarah wrote.
According to Farah Iqrar, Ayesha was laid to rest quietly beside her father in the Sakhi Hasan Graveyard.
“Her son told the police it was a natural death and declined a postmortem,” Farah said in her vlog. “No one knew. She died quietly, and she was buried quietly.”
Farah added that in her final days, Ayesha had suffered a bone fracture and had completely withdrawn from people.
“She used to be full of life – a friendly and social person,” she recalled. “But she lost hope. She gave up … disheartened by those she loved most.”
