Iran has announced plans to retaliate following the American strikes on the Fordow nuclear facility, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Sunday.
According to the TV channel, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei said that America entered the war to its own detriment, and now the damage to America will be much greater than that to Iran.
The senior Iranian authorities have stated that "you started it; we will finish it," marking a dramatic escalation in the regional conflict.
Hossein Shariatmadari, a senior advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a fiery warning, stating that in response to the US strike, Iran "must now take its turn."
He advocated for direct missile strikes on US naval ships and called for the closure of the vital Strait of Hormuz to American, British, German, and French shipping traffic.
Shariatmadari, who is also the editor-in-chief of the hardline Kayhan newspaper and a long-time conservative voice, stressed that Iran’s response should be swift and unhesitating.
A Telegram message attributed to him stated, "Without hesitation or delay, we must begin by launching missile strikes on the US naval fleet stationed in Bahrain and immediately shut down the Strait of Hormuz for Western maritime traffic."
Iranian FM says Iran reserves all options
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the American attack as a blatant violation of international law and the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Calling the strikes provocative and dangerous, Araghchi warned of severe consequences, asserting that Iran reserves "all options to defend its sovereignty, national interests, and people."
The US and Israel crossed a major red line in attacking Iran's nuclear facilities, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday, just hours after a US strike on its nuclear facilities.
"There is no red line that they have not crossed. And the last one, and the most dangerous one, happened only last night. They crossed a very big red line by attacking nuclear facilities," he said.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Sunday that he would travel to Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday following the US strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.
"I'm going to Moscow this afternoon" and will hold "serious consultations with the Russian president tomorrow" morning, Araghchi said at a press conference in Istanbul on the sidelines of an OIC summit.
Iran will defend itself by all means necessary, its foreign minister said on Sunday, following the US strikes against key sites in Iran's nuclear programme.
"Iran continues to defend Iran's territory, sovereignty, security and people by all means necessary against not just US military aggression, but also the reckless and unlawful actions of the Israeli regime," said Iranian diplomatic chief Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday the United States and Israel "decided to blow up" diplomacy when they launched strikes on his country's nuclear sites.
In a post on X, Araghchi said Israel blew up negotiations between Tehran and Washington with its strikes on June 13, while the United States did the same to talks with European powers this week with its strikes on Sunday. Addressing European calls for Iran to return to negotiations, he asked "how can Iran return to something it never left".
Iran's foreign ministry said the US attacks Sunday on nuclear facilities showed that Washington "will stop at no illegality or crime" to support Israel.
"It has now become abundantly clear to all that the very regime which enjoys permanent membership in the Security Council is beholden to no principle or morality and will stop at no illegality or crime to serve the aims of a genocidal, occupying regime," the ministry said in a statement, referring to the United States and Israel respectively.
Abbas Araqchi has condemned the recent US attacks on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, warning that the aggression will have devastating consequences for the United States.
Speaking to media, Araqchi accused President Donald Trump of violating international law by breaking promises and launching an attack in the middle of ongoing diplomatic discussions.
He said, “Now the responsibility lies with America. They will have to answer for their actions.”
Araqchi went on to say that the US has sabotaged the negotiation process and that unfortunately, it has once again proven it only respects the language of power.
“The world must understand,” he continued, “attacking Iran is a grave mistake. Launching missiles during active talks was nothing less than a betrayal.”
