Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti on Monday welcomed the court's verdict in the murder case of Shabbir Baloch, saying the decision reflected the rule of law after a two-year legal battle.
In a statement posted on X, Bugti said Shabbir Baloch was martyred while performing his official duties and that his sacrifice would always be remembered by the state.
The chief minister said the court's decision demonstrated that those who take the law into their own hands and promote violence could not claim immunity from accountability.
He said individuals who target state officials under the guise of peaceful protest would not be able to evade the law.

Bugti said the provincial government stood with the family of Shabbir Baloch and shared their grief, adding that ensuring justice for the slain official was the state's responsibility.
"The blood of Shaheed Shabbir Baloch will not be allowed to go in vain," he said.
The chief minister reiterated the government's resolve against violence and lawlessness, saying such acts would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He said operations against terrorists, their facilitators and supporting elements would continue, adding that the state's campaign against groups hostile to peace in Balochistan would persist until terrorism was eliminated.
Bugti also paid tribute to law enforcement agencies, saying their sacrifices were essential for maintaining peace and strengthening the writ of the state.
