Lahore police have claimed to arrest a burqa-clad woman for alleged involvement in a series of motorcycle thefts in the Gulshan-e-Ravi area, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.
According to police, the woman, along with her male companion, identified as Waqas, was involved in stealing motorcycles parked outside homes in different parts of the city.
The suspects were arrested late at night from the Sharaqpur Bridge Attari area following an investigation.
Police said the accused had been linked to multiple motorcycle theft incidents and was traced with the help of Safe City surveillance cameras and footage obtained from local CCTV networks.
The police officials also confirmed that CCTV footage of one of the thefts has surfaced, allegedly showing both suspects carrying out the crime.
The footage reportedly shows the burqa-clad woman riding away on a stolen motorcycle after the theft.
During the operation, police recovered a pistol along with ammunition, cash, and two stolen motorcycles from the possession of the suspects.
A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigations are underway.
