Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on a one-day official visit tomorrow on the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the Iranian president will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers and senior officials.
In view of the visit, tight security arrangements have been put in place in the federal capital. Traffic at Faizabad Interchange and surrounding areas will remain partially closed during the presidential arrival due to VIP movement, sources said.
The inter-provincial transport hub at Faizabad has also been closed as part of precautionary security measures. Authorities have issued a comprehensive traffic plan for various highways to manage public movement during the visit.
The Iranian president’s visit is being seen as an important diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Iran.
