The Directorate of Public Instructions (DPI) Punjab on Monday announced to lower admission target in government colleges from 20 percent to 10 percent, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
DPI Colleges said that most government colleges have been oversubscribed. A 20 percent quota was allotted to all colleges two years ago.
The DPI colleges stated that changes in admission policy were made keeping in view the number of students and capacity.
Most of the colleges were already granted admission beyond their capacity, and the colleges where fewer admissions are reported should focus on increasing the number of students.
The DPI colleges have already issued a notification regarding changes in the admissions policy.
