The Sindh High Court has ordered that the examination papers of petitioners challenging the results of the Sindh Public Service Commission's (SPSC) Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 be sealed and produced before the court for judicial scrutiny.
The order was issued during the hearing of multiple petitions challenging the SPSC examinations and their results. In its written order, the court directed the Hyderabad District and Sessions Judge to obtain the petitioners' answer sheets from the Sindh Public Service Commission, seal the entire record and submit it to the High Court through an authorized representative before the next hearing.
The court directed that all sealed records be opened only in the presence of a magistrate appointed by the court.
According to the written order, the petitioners argued that they had been declared unsuccessful on weak and unreasonable grounds. However, the Sindh Public Service Commission maintained that the candidates were declared unsuccessful strictly on merit and that there was no element of malice or bias in the results.
The High Court also accepted applications filed by two more candidates seeking to become parties to the case.
Observing that the dispute relates to the results of the Combined Competitive Examination 2024, the court held that judicial scrutiny of the petitioners' answer sheets was necessary to ensure transparency in the proceedings.
The court directed the Sindh Public Service Commission, the concerned authorities, and the Advocate General Sindh to fully cooperate in implementing the court's orders. It also instructed the Member Inspection Team (MIT) of the High Court to ensure compliance with both court directives.
