A woman was murdered by her husband with the help of an axe suspecting her having developed illicit relations with another man in Sara-i-Mughal near Kasur, reported 24NewsHDTV channel on Saturday.
According to details, the incident took place in Chakku area near Sara-i-Mughal. The deceased woman was mother of three children.
The couple married five years ago but due to some domestic disputes the woman developed illicit relations with another man.
After the murder, the accused escaped from the scene.
Soon after receiving the report of the incident, heavy contingent of police led by Sara-i-Mughal SHO reached the spot.
A team of crime scene unit and forensic laboratory the site and collected evidences of crime.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed Inspector-General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar to take strict action against persons involved in crimes against women.
District Police Officer (DPO) Kasur said that police have adopted zero tolerance policy against accused involved in physical torture and murder of women.
Further investigation was underway.
