Punjab police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Elite Force teams have foiled another terror attack on Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Dera Ghazi Khan on Saturday, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
The ambushed terrorists opened fire at police teams. The Khawarij terrorists retreated due to the quick and vigorous retaliatory fire of the youths, said the Punjab Police spokesperson.
Police, CTD and elite teams were on patrol and search operations in the border areas. Police teams had advanced information about the presence of Khawarij terrorists near Kot Mubarak. Terrorists ambushed police teams near Kot Mubarak and attacked them with IEDs. The armored vehicle suffered minor damage in the attack. All the soldiers were safe, thank God, said a spokesperson for Punjab Police.
The police teams have completely surrounded the area and a search operation is underway. Security measures have been tightened further in the border area.
DPO Syed Ali said Punjab Police is determined to thwart the nefarious intentions of Khawarji terrorists. RPO Captain (R) Sajjad Hassan Khan said, “police will use all resources to protect our citizens”.
