Pakistan bill for importing petroleum products has hit the record figure of $2.27 billion in April 2026 as the country came under pressure after oil prices in the international markets skyrocketed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The petroleum products’ total import bill in April 2025 was $1.354 billion.
Imports of petroleum products reached $977 million in April 2026 whhile crude oil imports almost doubled keeping in view the long-term average. All the previous records of 2008, 2022, and 2013 were broken.
Pakistan set a new record of importing crude oil worth $1.187 billion in April 2026. Crude oil worth $533.9 million was imported in April 2025.
The report further revealed that Pakistan did not import LNG in April 2026, and LPG worth $83.7 million was imported in April 2025. An extraordinary import of oil was witnessed every month.
