The Pakistan hockey team will no longer travel to Spain for preparatory matches ahead of the FIH Pro Hockey League, as time constraints and logistical hurdles have rendered the tour unfeasible, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.
According to sources, the national side will fly straight to Argentina, where they will begin their Pro League campaign early next month.
The squad for the upcoming training camp is expected to be announced in the coming days.
According to team officials, Pakistan is scheduled to depart in the first week of December.
In their opening phase of the league, the Green Shirts will take on hosts Argentina and the Netherlands.
The fixtures include clashes with the Netherlands on 10 and 13 December, and matches against Argentina on 12 and 15 December.
Tahir Zaman will lead the side as head coach for the Pro League campaign.
Pakistan enters the event on a strong note after a commanding performance in Bangladesh, where they defeated the hosts 10–3 in the final match of a three-game qualifier series at the Maulana Bhashani Stadium.
With victories in the first two fixtures, Pakistan completed a clean sweep and secured qualification for the FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifiers 2026.
The World Cup Qualifiers are scheduled to be held in Belgium from 28 February to 8 March 2026.
