Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's Hunarmand Programme set a new record of training more than 180,000 youth in a few months, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
This was briefed about the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz which was held in Lahore on Wednesday.
According to briefing, more than 75,000 skilled youth are employed and 15,000 have been successful in getting jobs in international organizations.
More than 27,500 youth who received training from Toyota institutions have become employed.
As many as 45,000 youth trained from Punjab Vocational Training Council institutions and 1,428 youth trained from Punjab Skills Development Funds have found employment.
Moreover, 350 female students who received training from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's Garment City have also found employment.
Similarly, 450 transgenders have also got jobs under the Pehchan Skill Development Program for Transgenders.
A significant increase of more than 21 percent in technical training in Punjab recorded compared to the last 5 years.
It has been decided to conduct a new survey of the industry for industrial development under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
It has also been decided to issue Maryam Nawaz free parwaz card for skilled youth.
For the first time in Punjab, 24 construction labs have been established to develop the construction sector on modern lines.
Training of 830 youths completed under Construction Lab Project and training of 1178 ongoing and 975 youths included in new batch.
As many as 2450 youths will be given modern construction training in Bahawalpur, Multan, Bhakkar, Mianwali and other cities.
Training of 96 youths completed under Hospitality Training Program, training of 96 ongoing and 100 more youths will be trained.
Hospitality training to be started in Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad in the next phase.

Not less than 2158 training labs will be upgraded across Punjab and as many as 28140 students benefit from these training labs.

Briefing was also given on digital in Empowering Rural Women through IT Programme.
A fund of Rs1 billion has been allocated for IT training of 3,000 rural women.
In the first phase, IT training will be provided to rural women of Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lodhran and Faisalabad.
A target of IT training of more than 2100 rural women has been set by April 1, 2026.
