National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has decided not to accept the resignations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed members from the standing committees, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
According to sources, the NA speaker has resolved to initiate talks with PTI-backed lawmakers in an effort to bring them back into the parliamentary committees.
The sources said the negotiations are expected to begin during the National Assembly session scheduled for September 29.
During these discussions, PTI members will be persuaded to withdraw their resignations and rejoin the committees.
Sources added that if PTI lawmakers refuse to return even after negotiations, their resignations will then be accepted.
They stressed that parliamentary parties should resolve all issues amicably within the parliamentary forum.
