The federal government has reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for Sept. 23 under the petroleum pricing mechanism, according to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division on Tuesday.
The price of high-speed diesel has been cut by Rs3.12 per litre, bringing the new ex-depot price down to Rs418.96 per litre from Rs422.08.
The price of motor spirit, commonly known as petrol, has been reduced by Rs1.70 per litre to Rs392.05 from Rs393.75 per litre.
The revised prices will take effect from Sept. 23, 2026.
The Petroleum Division said the adjustment was made under the federal government's petroleum pricing mechanism and reflected global developments, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and other incidental costs.
