The Peshawar Motorway (M-1) will remain closed to all types of traffic 11:00 pm onwards tomorrow, September 23, 2026, until further notice, according to a traffic advisory. Reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Travelers from Islamabad, Rawalpindi and other districts have been advised to avoid the M-1 and postpone non-essential travel. The closure has been ordered in view of planned political protests and security concerns in the Islamabad-Rawalpindi region.
Meanwhile, the M-2 Motorway connecting Lahore and Islamabad will remain open to all types of traffic.
Authorities have advised travellers to plan their journeys accordingly and follow the instructions issued by traffic police.
