The ninth edition of the Pakistan-Russia Joint Exercise Druzhba-IX and the second edition of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Exercise Washaq Al Jabal-II, also known as Mountain Lynx-II, commenced on Tuesday at Cherat and the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Pabbi, respectively.
The two-week exercises bring together contingents of the Pakistan Army with troops from the Russian Army and the Royal Army of Oman.
The participating forces will share operational experience, refine counter-terrorism drills and procedures, and work to enhance interoperability during the exercises.
The training will also focus on improving combat skills and tactical expertise through joint drills and the exchange of best practices.
The exercises are aimed at strengthening professional interaction among the participating forces while further enhancing Pakistan's bilateral defence cooperation with Russia and Oman.
