The Punjab government has decided to construct three new major hospitals in Lahore, with all three facilities to be established in LDA City, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to the plan, 216 acres of land in LDA City have been allocated for the Nawaz Sharif Medical City.
The Maryam Nawaz Institute of Pediatric Health Sciences will have a capacity of 352 beds and will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 8 billion.
Moreover, a burn, plastic surgery and trauma center will also be established within the 175-bed Nawaz Sharif Institute at an estimated cost of Rs. 6.15 billion.
The Nawaz Sharif Institute of Genetic Blood Diseases will also be built at the same location, with the project estimated to cost Rs. 10 billion.
The responsibility for constructing all three hospitals has been assigned to the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP).
