Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Saturday invited all political parties to a dialogue on the ‘Charter for Istehkam-e-Pakistan’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking to the media outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) building in Lahore, he said that the government was ready to talk on the charter.
He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had talked about the dialogue between political parties in front of the country’s military leadership. “Nobody is bypassing anybody. Whatever will be discussed will be brought to the public's knowledge,” he said, adding, “Two years ago, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had said at a public meeting in Minar-e-Pakistan that it was his 40-year experience that all state institutions must sit together for the resolution of the issues confronting the country.”
Rana Sana, however, said the government had absolutely no interest in the passage of the 27th constitutional amendment and the creation of more federating units in the country.
The PM’s assistant further said that on May 9, government and military installations were ransacked and torched. “Now how could the PTI deny it was not involved in these incidents?”
The party, Rana Sana went on to say, should have accepted the responsibility for these incidents and apologized to the nation. “If that had happened, things would not have gone from bad to worse for the party,” he opined.
