Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday visited Shaheen Chowk Underpass project in Islamabad and conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing construction activities on the site, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Mohsin Naqvi reviewed the progress of Shaheen Chowk Underpass project on the spot.
Talking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said that traffic flow will be restored on main highways as soon as Shaheen Chowk Underpass opens.
He said Shahen Chowk Underpass will significantly reduce traffic congestion in Islamabad.
Mohsin Naqvi directed to ensure completion of the project within the stipulated time and maintain the pace.
Chairman CDA gave a detailed briefing to the Interior Minister about the progress in work completed so far.
Mohsin Naqvi was briefed that 90 percent work of Shaheen Chowk Underpass project has been completed and will be opened for traffic next week.
The structural work of the underpass of the project has been completed, while road work and finishing work are in progress.
Mohsin Naqvi directed that there will be no compromise on quality in construction work.
Interior Minister directed that to ensure modern landscaping and tree plantation around the project located at a central location.
Chairman CDA, IG Islamabad, CDA members, Additional Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
