The Quaid-e-Azam Day Celebration Men’s and Women’s Weightlifting Tournament 2025 will be staged on Thursday, December 25, at the Elite Training Center, Nishtar Park, Punjab Stadium, Lahore, marking a special tribute to the Father of the Nation through competitive sport.
The competition is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM, with the inauguration to be carried out by Madam Nuzhat Jabeen, Chairperson of the Pakistan Weightlifting Federation. The event will feature both men’s and women’s categories, reflecting the growing inclusivity and popularity of weightlifting across Pakistan.
Senior PML-N leader and former MNA Omar Sohail Zia Butt will serve as the chief guest, presiding over the prize distribution ceremony at 2:00 PM, where medals and awards will be presented to the top performers.
The tournament is being organized under the supervision of Rashid Nadeem Butt and Naila Maqsood Butt as organizing secretaries, with Sohail Javed Butt coordinating media coverage.
A strong panel of technical officials will oversee the competition, including Abdul Sattar Rahi, Qaisar Iftikhar, Javed Asghar, Muhammad Zahoor, Kashif Ali, Asim Akbar, Awais Akbar, Adeeb Akram, Waqas Akbar, Abdullah Sohail Butt, Waseem Akram, Hafiz Imran Azizi, Zaheer Akram, and Abdul Ghaffar.
