On the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the provincial government has implemented the e-office system for the first time in Sindh, aiming to transition to a fully digital and paperless working environment.
According to an official announcement, the e-office system will be formally launched at the Chief Minister’s House Secretariat from February 23, 2026. All correspondence of the Principal Secretary, Additional Secretary, Section Officers and other senior officials will be processed through the digital platform.
The circular states that high-level correspondence will also be conducted entirely through the e-office system, and a paperless system has been made mandatory for official communication. It has been decided to completely discontinue work on physical files.
The chief minister has directed all offices under the Secretariat to immediately begin working on the e-office platform. Scanning and uploading of necessary and active files has been made mandatory, while phased digitization of the remaining records has been ordered to be completed within one month.
The IT section has been instructed to provide training sessions and tutorials to ensure smooth implementation. Officials have also been directed to immediately report any issues encountered during the rollout to the IT section.
The chief minister said the shift to digital file management would significantly enhance transparency, efficiency, speed and record management within the government.
The circular regarding implementation of the e-office system was issued by the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Agha Wasif.
