34 section officers appointed across 20 ministries, divisions

The federal government has issued orders appointing 34 section officers across 20 ministries and divisions, while also extending the tenure of two senior officers, according to notifications issued by the Establishment Division.

Under the orders, the additional charge of Member (Estate) assigned to Capital Development Authority (CDA) Member (Administration) Talat Mahmood has been extended for three months, effective from November 17, 2025. In a separate decision, the tenure of Joint Secretary Commerce Division Muhammad Waqas Azeem has been extended for two years, from January 13, 2026, to January 12, 2028.

Meanwhile, 34 section officers have been posted to various ministries and divisions. Rashid Ali Sudhar and Asif Ali have been appointed to the Cabinet Division, Israr Mashal Khan to the Commerce Division, and Ahmed Nabeel Javed to the Defence Division. Qaiser Khan and Muhammad Saleem have been posted to the Economic Affairs Division.

In the Establishment Division, Muhammad Mubashir and Imran Aziz have been appointed, while Samira Jabeen and Afshan Iqbal have been posted to the Finance Division. Tariq Javed has been appointed to the Kashmir Affairs Division.

The Industries and Production Division will be joined by Muhammad Riaz Ahmed, Wajiha Arif, Nazir Syed and Shah Khalid. Sajid Ali, Safdar Hussain, Tauqeer Ahmed and Qasim Mahmood have been appointed to the Interior Division, while Zaheer Ahmed and Shazia Jabeen have been posted to the Law and Justice Division.

Ayaz Amjad Chattha has been appointed to the National Heritage Division, Sarfaraz Ahmed to the National Security Division and Asif Dilshad Ahmed Hashmi and Zubair Ahmed Kaleem to the Overseas Pakistanis Division. Bilal-ur-Rehman and Shaukat Usman have been posted to the Planning Division, while Shahid Nawaz, Nida Naseer and Wajahat Ali Shah have joined the Power Division.

Jan Muhammad has been appointed to the Poverty Alleviation Division, Mahmood Khan to the Revenue Division and Muhammad Sajjad to the Science and Technology Division.

All the newly appointed officers are probationers of the 2024 Section Officers Promotional Examination and have successfully completed Secretariat Training, including a specialized training programme, after which these postings were made.

In a separate notification, Section Officer Pirzada Abu Bakr Iqbal Rabbani has been transferred from the Cabinet Division to the Parliamentary Affairs Division.

The Establishment Division has issued separate official notifications for all appointments, extensions and transfers.
