Hollywood actress Blake Lively has come under criticism after a YouTuber accused her of violating privacy rights in an ongoing legal dispute linked to the 2024 film It Ends With Us.
Kassidy O’Connell, a content creator who supported actor Justin Baldoni online, claims that Lively issued an “invasive subpoena” seeking her personal and financial details. O’Connell responded with a strongly worded court filing, calling Lively’s actions “desperate and paranoid” and has also lodged a formal complaint against the actress’s lawyer, Esra Hudson.
The controversy began when Lively reportedly subpoenaed Google and social media platform X, demanding data from over 30 influencers she believes may have been paid by Baldoni to post negative content about her. However, O’Connell denies the allegation and says she earns revenue from YouTube ads, including some featuring Lively’s own husband, Ryan Reynolds.
“Ironically, if I’ve been paid by anyone connected to this case, it’s Ryan Reynolds through Mint Mobile ads,” O’Connell stated, referring to the brand where Reynolds previously held a large ownership stake.
In her court motion, O’Connell argued that the request for her private banking details violates her rights, highlighting that Lively herself previously defended her own privacy in a similar legal setting.
O’Connell also expressed safety concerns, claiming she has been a past victim of stalking and assault. She accused Lively’s legal team of potentially putting her at risk by requesting sensitive personal data.
