Pop star and mental health advocate Selena Gomez marked her birthday with a meaningful milestone, the fifth anniversary of the Rare Impact Fund, by announcing the launch of a new initiative to broaden its reach and impact.
Taking to Instagram, Gomez reflected on the journey that began on her birthday five years ago, when she founded the Rare Impact Fund with a simple but powerful mission: to help young people around the world feel seen, supported, and cared for.
“Mental health has always been deeply personal to me,” Gomez wrote. “I wanted to build something that could create lasting change.”
Since its launch, the Rare Impact Fund has reportedly reached over 2 million young people and partnered with 30 organizations globally to improve mental health support for underserved communities.
To celebrate both the anniversary and her birthday, the singer introduced the Rare Impact Fund Giving Circle – a new community-based fundraising initiative. The Giving Circle allows individuals to pool resources and collectively support organizations making a tangible difference in mental health care.
“It’s about believing in the power of community to create lasting change,” she added.
Gomez encouraged fans and supporters to join the movement by visiting the link in her bio, emphasizing her vision of a future where every young person has access to the mental health resources they deserve.
The Rare Impact Fund is part of Gomez’s broader mission through her beauty brand Rare Beauty, which donates a percentage of proceeds to the fund.
