In a gesture not normally witnessed in Pakistan, and particularly the very important persons (VIPs) are not accustomed to it at all, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on arrival at the venue for New Global Financing Pact Summit in Paris on Thursday, took away an umbrella from a member of the French welcome party who was waiting for him with the rain-shade in her hands in view of drizzle, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As soon as the prime minister came out of the car one of the hostesses rushed towards him with an umbrella in her hand. The woman, who was a black, tried to shelter the Pakistani prime minister from the pouring rain.
The prime minister turned to her and asked her politely to hand him the umbrella and took away the rain-shade from her which she reluctantly did.
Sooner she realized that this action of the prime minister might eclipse her duty of not letting the guest get wet, she swiftly chased the prime minister, slowed down a bit but kept walking fast behind Shehbaz Sharif.
The prime minister in the end reached the building and then handed back the umbrella. He then headed straight into the venue to attend New Global Financing Pact Summit.
