Expressing strong displeasure over the failure of DIG Jawad Tariq to submit challan in the protest case registered against PTI leaders despite repeated notices, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad on Tuesday sentenced the police official to one-month imprisonment besides fining him Rs100,000, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra pronounced the verdict.

A case had been registered against the PTI leaders at Margalla Police Station of the federal capital.

Muhammad Jawad Tariq officially took charge as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad on January 30, replacing Ali Raza, who had been posted as DIG Security and Headquarters.
