UK King Charles III has sent a message on Pakistan Day, reiterating the Pak-British resolve to combat climate change, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
He extended heartfelt congratulations to the president and the people of Pakistan on this special occasion and national day, stating: “The two countries are determined to continue the warm friendship and strong partnership.
“Pakistan Day is even more significant on its 10th anniversary as a member of the Commonwealth. We will continue to work together for peace, democracy and prosperity in difficult times.
“The two states will work together to prevent climate change and biological damage. My wife and I fondly remember the 2006 visit to Pakistan and the public host, British King Charles
“After last year's devastating floods, the efforts to rebuild a determined Pakistani nation are well worth it.”
Last month, the King sent a message of condolence to President Arif Alvi over the Peshawar mosque massacre that claimed more than 100 lives and left a trail of devastation.
It read: "My wife and I were profoundly shocked by the dreadful bomb attack in Peshawar on Monday. Such acts of incomprehensible brutality, wherever they occur, are a barbaric assault on our shared humanity and our values of understanding and compassion."
"It is all the more horrific that the victims were in a place of worship during afternoon prayers. We feel most deeply for all those who have been so cruelly bereaved and injured. We recall our visit to Pakistan in 2006 with the greatest fondness, and will hold the people of Pakistan in our special thoughts and prayers as you mourn those you have lost."
