President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday reciprocated Britain's King Charles III’s heartfelt message on Pakistan Day, by saying that his warm words reflected a bond that went beyond diplomacy, rooted in people, culture and shared future, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a post on X handle, President Zardari further said “Truly touched by the enduring friendship!”
King Charles in a letter addressed to the President Zardari felicitated him and the people of Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the National Day.
“As we mark this day, I reflect with sincere appreciation on the enduring friendship between our countries, grounded in the shared values and mutual respect of our Commonwealth. The bonds between us are reinforced every day by our vibrant British Pakistani community, whose contributions enrich so many aspects of life in the United Kingdom, and by the ties of family, enterprise and culture that link our peoples,” the letter shared by the British High Commission in Pakistan on X said.
The King said Pakistan’s remarkable natural heritage, from high mountain valleys to the Indus Delta, reminded them of their shared responsibility to steward the environment.
“I am truly heartened by the practical cooperation between the United Kingdom and Pakistan to build climate resilience and a greener future -from strengthening flood preparedness and water management to our new partnership to mobilise investment in clean energy and Nature,” the letter added.
The King on his behalf and on behalf of the Queen also extended very best wishes to all Pakistanis, at home and around the world, for a peaceful and prosperous year ahead.
