Rain, snow and hail expected in parts of Pakistan

The Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast for Thursday, warning of rain, snow and hail in different parts of the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.

According to the forecast, Islamabad will remain dry and cold during the day, but cloudy with gusty winds and thundershowers in the evening or night. Hailstorm is also expected at few places in the capital city.

The weather will remain cloudy in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where Chitral, Dir, Kohistan, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Mardan, Peshawar, Kurram and Kohat are expected to receive rain with strong winds and thundershowers. There is a chance of snow in the mountains of the province.

The weather will remain cold and dry in most districts of Punjab, except for Murree, Galliyat, Attock Jhelum, Chakwal, Rawalpindi and Mianwali, where cloudy with gusty winds and thundershowers are expected in the evening or night. Hailstorm is also possible at few places in these areas.

Sialkot, Lahore, Gujranwala, Narowal, Sargodha, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh will experience fog and smog in the morning, while Jhang, Khanewal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas will be covered by smog throughout the day.

The weather will be dry in most districts of Balochistan, but cold in the northern districts.

The weather will also remain dry in most districts of Sindh, with a possibility of light fog in the upper districts and smog in a few districts.

Heavy winds and thundershowers are expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, where there is a chance of snow in the mountains. Hailstorm is also expected at few places in Kashmir.
