The 11th Vice Admiral H.M.S. Chaudhry Amateur Golf Cup entered a decisive phase on Saturday as intense competition in both the amateur and senior amateur categories reshaped the leaderboards at the Defence Raya Golf & Country Club.
The prestigious four-day event will conclude today (Sunday), followed by the prize-distribution ceremony.
In the amateur category, Jashwa Amjad (RGC) delivered consistent performances over two rounds, carding a gross total of 150 and a net 140 to secure the lead.
Close behind is Hussain Hamid (RP), who recorded a gross 147 and a matching net 140 but trails due to tie-breaking rules.
Salman Gulzar (Raya), with a steady second-round gross of 76, sits at net 142 alongside Syed Hassan Askari (Raya) and Khurram Khalid Khan (Raya), forming a tightly packed chasing group. Abdullah Ansar (DHA Karachi) posted a net 143 after recovering from mid-round setbacks, while Brig Asif Maqsood (RGC), Usman Akram Sahi (Raya) and others remain within striking distance, with many contenders grouped between net scores of 140 and 148.
The senior amateur division saw Abdul Rauf Ali (RP) take the 1st net position with a gross 151 and an impressive net 137, thanks to disciplined course management.
In the gross standings, Ahmed Zafar Hayat (RP) claimed the top spot with a superb gross 143, marked by long stretches of bogey-free golf.
Air Cdre Tariq Usman (PAF Sky View) holds 2nd net on 143, followed by Col Ikram-ul-Haq (Raya) at net 145. Haider Malli (GYM) stands at gross 148, occupying 3rd Gross, with experienced golfers including Umair Butt (Raya) and Brig Muhammad Masood (RGC) remaining in close pursuit.
