The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has announced a record recovery of Rs 1.10 trillion (Rs 11.02 trillion) during the third quarter of 2025, marking a staggering 242 percent increase compared to the previous quarter.

The bureau described the achievement as an “unprecedented boost” to the national exchequer, reflecting its intensified anti-corruption drive and focus on asset recovery.

According to an official statement issued Thursday, NAB’s total recoveries for the first three quarters of 2025 have reached Rs 1,649.36 billion (Rs 5.16 trillion).

The bureau said that 17,194 victims of various public fraud schemes benefited from recoveries during this period. In a significant development, NAB also launched its first-ever online payment and distribution system, disbursing funds digitally to 5,008 victims of the B4U investment scam, ensuring greater transparency and efficiency.

The bureau reported substantial recoveries across multiple regions. In Karachi, NAB recovered two valuable plots worth Rs 2.8 billion in the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) case and handed them over to the KPT authorities. NAB Sukkur retrieved 361 acres of additional land belonging to the National Highway Authority (NHA), valued at Rs 2.5 billion. One of the most notable recoveries of the quarter came in the environmental sector, where NAB reclaimed 1.39 million acres of mangrove forest land worth Rs 1,104.97 billion, pushing the total value of recovered forest land to Rs 2,592.74 billion (Rs 9.25 trillion).

In Balochistan, NAB recovered 414,036 acres of forest land valued at Rs 44.8 billion, while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the bureau reclaimed illegally allotted state land worth Rs 3.2 billion, which has been handed over to the Ministry of Industries and Production.

Terming the record recoveries a reflection of its zero-tolerance policy against corruption, NAB said it remains committed to recovering looted public money and protecting national assets through enhanced digital monitoring, institutional reforms, and close coordination with federal and provincial agencies.
