The Sindh government has imposed a ban on pillion riding, commonly known as double riding, of motorcycles across various districts in the province during the auspicious occasion of Rabi-ul-Awwal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
This decision, as outlined in a recent notification from the Sindh Home Department, is part of a broader strategy to maintain peace and prevent any unforeseen incidents during the religious gatherings and processions that typically occur during this period.
The ban will be enforced on the 11th and 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal in Karachi’s Central District. Similarly, in the Karachi East District, the prohibition on double riding will be in place on the 8th, 11th, and 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal. This measure underscores the government’s commitment to citizen safety during religious events.
The cities of Hyderabad and Dadu are also included in this directive, with a ban on double riding on the 11th and 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal. The local administrations have issued the necessary notifications and are gearing up to ensure effective implementation of the ban.
In Ghotki, the ban will be specifically enforced on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, with local authorities working diligently to ensure strict adherence by the residents. Furthermore, the ban will extend to Larkana, Qamber Shahdadkot, Kashmore, Jacobabad, and Nawabshah on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
