A three-year-old girl was raped and murdered within the jurisdiction of Noon Police Station, Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.
The killer of three-year-old Sakina Bibi was identified as her own brother-in-law, Kashif. The ruthless suspect was subsequently arrested within two hours.
Upon receiving a report about the three-year-old girl going missing, the Noon Police immediately registered a case and launched an investigation.
Islamabad DIG Ali Waseem formed police teams under the supervision of SP Industrial Zone Dr Ayaz Hussain to investigate the case. The police teams arrested the suspect using proof from CCTV footage, modern technology, and human intelligence sources.
The body of three-year-old Sakina was recovered following information provided by the arrested suspect, Kashif, who disclosed its location during interrogation. SHOs from four police stations in the Industrial Zone took part in the search operation.
The SSP Operations Islamabad said that further investigation into the incident is underway, and other aspects are being examined.
All legal formalities will be fulfilled to ensure the suspect involved in the incident receives due punishment in accordance with the law, added SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza.
