The controversy surrounding Saba Faisal’s remarks on divorce has taken another turn after her daughter, actress Sadia Faisal, responded to Hira Khan’s criticism of the veteran star.
Sadia shared a news graphic on her Instagram Story carrying the headline, “I Have Said It Before And I Will Say It Again, Saba Faisal Needs Help” – Hira Khan. Alongside the post, she wrote, “I wish I could see this so called actress one day!”
She then added another caption at the bottom of the Story, writing, “Behan kon ho tum!” which roughly translates to “Sister, who even are you?” Her response directly addressed Hira’s criticism of her mother and brought Sadia herself into the ongoing exchange.
The controversy began after Hira Khan reacted to Saba Faisal’s recent remarks about changing attitudes toward marriage and divorce. Hira shared a statement on her Instagram Story, writing, “Janazay uthanay se behtar hain maa baap apne sir jhuka lein. Honestly, I have said it before and I will say it again - she needs help :)”
The Urdu portion of Hira’s message refers to parents lowering their heads and accepting a situation rather than reaching a point where they have to carry the funeral bier of their children. Hira then added her own comment that Saba “needs help.”
Hira’s reaction came after a video featuring Saba Faisal discussing changing attitudes toward divorce circulated on social media. In the video, the veteran actress reflected on how divorce was viewed by families in the past and compared those attitudes with what she described as a more casual approach to separation today.
Saba recalled a time when divorce was considered a deeply painful matter for the entire family. She spoke about families questioning what had gone wrong and said that a father could feel ashamed when his daughter’s marriage ended.
She also gave an example of a divorced woman talking about her separation after three months and travelling abroad before returning after taking time to clear her mind. Saba expressed concern over what she described as changing attitudes toward marriage and divorce.
