Police surgeon Dr Samia told the judicial commission, formed to probe the death of Karachi youth Mir Raza, on Wednesday that Dr Usama thrice appeared before the commission but did not present the record of the private conversation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
She said that some parts of the conversation were leaked to some specific media channels and digital platforms.
She expressed the fear that this might distract attention from the real issue.
Dr Samia told the commission that she was ready to present a complete record of the conversation with Dr. Usama.
She said that the doctor had declared the initial post-mortem report valid and was not willing to accept the final report.
The police surgeon was of the view that statements made by Dr Usama put a question mark over his conduct.
On the other hand, the commission, in its written order on yesterday’s hearing, said that family members of the deceased expressed their reservations over the constitution of a super medical board, saying that if formed, it would render the entire working of the commission meaningless.
Quoting the family members, the commission said that on several occasions, messages were sent to DIG Amir Farooqui, but he did not give any response.
The commission directed the appointment of IG Sindh as a focal person.
It summoned the secretary of health, SSP Samiullah Soomro, representative of CPLC Kashif Iftikhar, and investigation officer Siraj Lashari on Monday.
