Acclaimed Pakistani actress Hina Dilpazeer has offered a candid take on love and infatuation, arguing that genuine love goes far beyond physical beauty and fleeting attraction.
A video from the actress’s recent appearance on popular comedy talk show ‘Mazaaq Raat’ has gone viral on social media, where Hina opened up about her understanding of meaningful relationships and revealed why she ultimately felt it was better to remain alone.
During the conversation, Hina explained that people often mistake an intense attraction or infatuation for genuine love.
“We mistake infatuation for love. We think, ‘Oh, so and so is so beautiful and lovely, I must be in love with them.’ But this is not the foundation of love,” she said.
According to Hina, true love means accepting a person with both their strengths and weaknesses instead of simply being attracted to their appearance or idealizing them.
She further explained that one of the most important aspects of love is helping a partner achieve their dreams rather than becoming an obstacle in their way.
“The biggest thing about love is that you fulfil each other’s dreams together. You don’t come in the other person’s way,” Hina remarked.
The actress then made a personal revelation, admitting that she had never come across someone who matched this understanding of love.
“And I never found someone like that. So, I thought it was better to stay alone,” she added.
During the show, the host also asked Hina whether she was more likely to be betrayed by someone or whether she herself had ever betrayed anyone.

“I don’t give anyone so much courage that they can betray me,” she said.

“I feel that when you get stuck somewhere, the situation you find yourself in at that moment is also because of your own choices, not someone else’s,” Hina explained.
She added that people often reveal through their behaviour how much distance should be maintained in a relationship.
“The other person themselves tells you how far away you should stay,” she said.
