The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has formally issued its review decisions on K-Electric’s multi-year tariff, maintaining the utility’s average tariff at Rs32.37 per unit.
The decision follows the dismissal of K-Electric’s appeal by the Appellate Tribunal against the revised tariff determined by the power regulator.
K-Electric’s multi-year tariff covers the period from fiscal year 2023-24 to 2029-30 and includes separate determinations relating to generation, transmission, distribution and supply businesses.
NEPRA had initially determined K-Electric’s average tariff at Rs39.97 per unit. K-Electric and other concerned parties subsequently filed review petitions challenging different aspects of the determination.
The regulator decided the review petitions on Oct. 20, 2025, reducing K-Electric’s average tariff from Rs39.97 to Rs32.37 per unit.
K-Electric later challenged the revised tariff before the Appellate Tribunal.
After proceedings lasting about 11 months, the tribunal dismissed K-Electric’s appeal, leaving NEPRA’s revised average tariff of Rs32.37 per unit unchanged.
Following the tribunal’s decision, NEPRA has now formally notified the review decisions it had issued on Oct. 20, 2025.
The notifications cover K-Electric’s generation, transmission, distribution and supply tariffs under its multi-year tariff framework for the seven-year period ending in fiscal year 2029-30.
