The Punjab government has revised the transfer policy for teachers and relevant professional staff in special education institutions to fill vacant posts in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Under the revised policy, the mandatory three-year tenure requirement may be relaxed if there is only one candidate for a vacant post. The condition will also be relaxed if a post has remained vacant for at least six months, according to official documents.
Officials identified the problem of some posts remaining vacant despite the availability of interested personnel due to the three-year tenure requirement.
Subsequently, it was decided that transfers will only be made against vacant posts, while posting at a specific location will not be considered an employee’s right.
Applications from teachers and relevant professionals will be accepted through the e-portal during summer and winter vacations.
